XeroQ is hiring for its client’s first in-house full stack developer. Their CTO currently writes most of the code himself. This role exists so that stops being true.

Compensation: $2,500–$3,000 per month, based on experience

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday

Location: Remote, Lagos, NG

Reports to: the client’s Director of Technology Operations, XeroQ’s COO

The work

Most of your time goes to the client’s customer-facing AI platform. It’s built on a heavily customized fork of an open-source project, so merging upstream updates without breaking what’s live is routine work. Expect new features, a real backlog of bugs, and full ownership of what ships.

Beyond that: stabilizing a second product ahead of its launch, and building internal tools for teams across the company — most of them non-technical. You’ll also help put basic engineering process in place, since there’s currently no code review and few gates on the way to production.

Deep AWS or Azure experience transfers, but you’ll need to get productive on GCP fast.

What you need

• 6+ years full stack, with production apps you can show us
• Solid architecture judgment — monolith vs. services, client vs. server, designing an API around its actual consumers
• Real testing discipline: unit, integration, and what runs where in the pipeline
• Docker and containerized deployment, including the parts that break
• Experience maintaining a forked repo — upstream tracking, safe merges, conflict handling
• Strong full-stack debugging: production logs, local reproduction, knowing when to roll back instead of pushing a fix
• Can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical teammates without jargon
• Fluent with AI-assisted development. The team ships AI-first — their CTO writes the large majority of his code this way. We want someone who works the same way and knows where the guardrails go.
• Genuinely autonomous. Small team, first full stack hire, nobody checking your work daily.
• Willing to work within the client’s systems, processes, and engineering standards
